VMS comments on proposed changes in Medicaid’s professional fee schedule

VMS recently submitted comments to the AHS Medicaid Policy Unit related to proposed changes in Medicaid’s professional fee schedule, effective Aug. 1, 2017.

In the comments VMS says it is supportive of DVHA’s plans to increase the Vermont Medicaid reimbursement for primary care to 100 percent of Medicare’s RBRVS fee schedule, and will seek to raise reimbursement for non-primary care codes from 80 percent to 100 percent of Medicare as well.

VMS did express concerns about the lack of guidance regarding DVHA’s plans for additional changes beginning Jan. 1, 2018, based changes by CMS in calendar year 2018 to the Medicare RBRVS fee schedule.
