VMS Advocacy Day 2020 will include a two-pronged Media Training, a Town Hall Luncheon and the opportunity to testify at the Vermont State House.

Come meet your lawmakers and acquire strategic leadership tools to use to advance your practice and provide better health opportunities for your patients. Start the day with a custom media/advocacy training with Carol Kelly. Attendees will receive personal instruction in group communication and public speaking and you will be recorded in order to get personal feedback on your speaking style. VMS member colleagues will also facilitate a "Mock Committee Hearing" using an actual 2020 legislative proposal for you to practice with and then you can try using your new skills through testifying on important health care topics in the afternoon.
Lunch will feature an interactive Town Hall discussion between clinicians, lawmakers and House Speaker Mitzi Johnson and Senate President Pro Tem Tim Ashe focused on the topic:"Health Care Policies That Result in Healthy Vermonters" Please feel free to come be part of the change you want to see in in health care in Vermont, have meaningful conversations with your legislators and learn valuable leadership skills.
1PM-3PM Testify at the Vermont Statehouse - VMS members testify on issues regarding reproductive health, mental health issues, tobacco flavor ban issues, prevention, workforce issues, etc. in House and Senate Committees. Please let us know if you would like to testify.
