Vermont Medical Society Seeks 2020 Resolutions and Award Nominations

The VMS Executive Committee has decided to transform the 2020 VMS Annual Meeting to a virtual-only format, which will be held on Saturday, November 7th. Although we will miss the in-person time with our colleagues, our meeting will still include a combination of policy, education and fun, including:

  • Awards (submit nominations below)
  • Business Meeting & Resolutions (submit ideas below)
  • Interactive CME – focus on COVID 19-related lessons and future planning

VMS is currently soliciting 2020 VMS Policy Resolutions for consideration by the membership at the Annual Meeting on November 7th. The VMS Council will be accepting resolutions until June 23rd and the resolution topics will be reviewed at the June 25th VMS Council meeting. Resolutions will then be circulated to all VMS members for feedback during August and early September. The VMS Council will review resolutions together with member feedback during the September 16th VMS Council Meeting. Because this year will be a pilot all virtual meeting, the number of resolutions will be limited. The Council will focus on resolutions that are time-sensitive or add new/substantially updated policies. Existing VMS policies can be found here:http://www.vtmd.org/advocacy-and-policy/vms-resolutions. Click HERE to submit a resolution idea.

VMS is also seeking Award Nominations, as this year more than ever, is the time to recognize those heroes who are making a difference in the lives of Vermont patients and for the health of our State.  Please consider nominating individuals for:

  • Distinguished Service Award
  • Physician of the Year Award
  • Physician Award for Community Service
  • Citizen of the Year Award
  • Founders’ Award

The VMS Committee on Awards will be accepting nominations for these awards until June 23rd. The awards will be presented during the day long Virtual Annual Meeting on November 7th.
