VPA Bruce Gibbard Award for Clinical Excellence

This Award for Clinical Excellence is given to a Vermont Psychiatrist by the Vermont Psychiatric Association for:

1) Clinical Excellence, including:

  • Loyalty to patients

  • Commitment to Privacy/Confidentiality; and the highest standards of ethical care

  •  Outstanding Psychotherapist

  •  Valued diagnostician/theoretician

2) Professionalism

  •  Contributions to VPA/APA and/or other Medical/Professional organizations

3) Contributions to education/teaching

These are qualities that Bruce Gibbard exemplified that the VPA feels are worthy of recognition to be given to one of its members biannually.  The criteria outlined above forms the basis for the VPA Award in Clinical Excellence.
