Policy
Council
The Physicians Policy Council (PPC) was organized by the VMS in 1994 to act
as a "provider bargaining group" for Vermont physicians. The PPC is
authorized by Vermont law to negotiate with state government agencies such
as the Office of Vermont Health Access (OVHA) and the Department of Labor on
all matters related to reimbursement, quality, and health care regulation
for Vermont physicians.
The PPC is organized by physician specialty. Each specialty society or
organization in Vermont that is recognized by the VMS Council has a seat on
this important negotiating body. The recognized specialties are listed
below:
